Siurana, the paradise of climbing

Since the Sport Climbing boom in Catalonia around the 80's, Siurana (an added municipality in Cornudella del Montsant) has become a very attractive area for the climbing community. And not only at the local and national level, but also for climbers from all over Europe and the rest of the world.

It is surprising how a town like Siurana, with only about thirty inhabitants, is so well known internationally by the world of climbing. Its limestone rock, very adherent and crimpy; its great variety of routes and graduations, for beginners as well as for the most experienced climbers; as well as the spectacular scenery and landscape. These factors have made Siurana a meeting point for hundreds of climbers every year, becoming a place of pilgrimage of the climbing community on an international scale.
